Questions we hear often

What is in this blend, and where does it come from?
It is Greek Mountain Tea blended with chamomile and lemon verbena. The base is sideritis, grown on the slopes of Mount Olympus in northern Greece at about 1,000 meters, blended with chamomile flowers and lemon verbena for a softer, gently citrusy evening cup. It comes in 20 sachets.
Does it contain caffeine?
No. Sideritis, chamomile, and lemon verbena are all naturally caffeine-free, so this blend has no caffeine at all. It is not a green or black tea and is not made from the tea plant. It can be enjoyed plain, or with Greek honey and a slice of lemon, at any time of day.
How do I brew it, and what does it taste like?
Place one sachet in a cup, pour in just-boiled water, and steep for about four minutes, then remove the bag. The flavor is soft and floral with a gentle lemon lift, smooth rather than sharp, and it is not bitter when brewed this way. Enjoy it plain, or add honey and lemon.
How is this different from plain Greek Mountain Tea?
It uses the same single-origin Sideritis scardica from Mount Olympus as the base, then adds chamomile and lemon verbena for a softer, more floral, gently citrusy cup. If you prefer the plain earthy, honeyed mountain-tea flavor on its own, choose the Greek Mountain Tea. This one is the gentler, evening version.
Why does altitude on Mount Olympus matter for the mountain tea base?
Sideritis grown at about 1,000 meters faces colder nights, a shorter season, and stronger sun than lowland herbs. The plant responds by producing more essential oil, which is where the gentle, earthy, honeyed flavor of the base comes from. The altitude is why the cup has real flavor instead of tasting like warm water.
